Teardrops and Lilies

When they ask you, "I have good news and bad news, which one do you want first?" We instinctively ask for the bad news first, because we hope that the good news after, would bring color to the gloom. The same is true for the red flags we ignore in love. We see them, they are oftentimes undoubtedly glaring. But we choose to see and believe only the things we want.  The rude comments our lover makes, we pass them for a bad day. The change in communication pattern, we accost them to stress or busyness from work. When you complain that they stopped being sweet, they claim that they should be the one being pampered. And you rethink and agree.  The monosyllables and the way they often walk away while you're still talking. Even when they give a cheek instead of lips to a kiss, we pass it that we hesitated first or did something. When we hear tales of their escapades, we say that they cannot return to that life. And when we see proof, we call them oldies/throwbacks. The signs a...

The Truth About Money

I know you're reading this because you're curious to know what I want to say about money. So yeah, don't be in a hurry to scroll past, because I would be sharing secrets, now hear me out, and don't be impatient. These things are open secrets, they are right in our faces but we haven't taken enough time to identify them yet. Sherlock Holmes said, "the world is full of obvious things, which nobody by any chance ever observes." So, shall we? Let me tell you about a very interesting young man. He started a business in 2016 and from my view, I wouldn't say he saw it as a business. He was just doing what he loves, going after his passion as a visual storyteller. What he does is that he gets tech products, smartphones, televisions, smartwatches etcetera, and he would tell the viewers about the amazing features the device offers. Telling you all you stand to gain using that product. There are things you don't even know such a device could do, that he woul...

Crying Voices In The Wind

☆           ✯          ☆ I have always known you to be gentle, subtle and easygoing. Growing up, I remembered choosing you over your scorching opponent. I sleep better when you come, smiling satisfyingly under the sheets. But today your presence was cruel, as I heard your rustle I knew I didn't wanted you here. Not here, not now. I tried to get some sleep, hoping it would distract me from your presence. But I can't help but notice the changes in your calls, softly at first, then gradually you got me tensed. Rumbling outside, hitting my window frames, I could bet I heard you circle my room over and again. Your breezy escort blazing, your voice husky. Then I heard a loud thud on my door, my heart was in my mouth. Your aggression heightened and I was baffled. I knew you to be gentle, your voice like a lullaby ushering me to sleep. What coul...

SCARS are BEAUTIFUL

I do remember one of the few times I tried to be vocal about Scars being Beautiful. I got quite a several feedbacks, one of which stood out came from my junior brother. He said, “Scars are beautiful ahbi? No wahala, how would you love to be scarred on the face?” Obviously, I disliked the idea, but then it made me realized that no one intentionally gets scarred, we do not plan to fail. Yet, it is bound to happen one way or the other, and the result of this can destabilize one.                               •      •     •       Failure is a common scar among individuals. We've all had our taste of it at one point in our lives, and we often picture it as something unpleasant and ugly that we want no part of. This one-sided perspective has blinded us from seeing the beauty in our scars.  When one fails, it becomes an opportunity to learn, because it has sh...
